I am an author and illustrator of picture and middle grade fiction books. I strive to write stories that help young people fall in love with reading. My characters and both sweet and strong.

I believe that books, objects and learning should have a beautiful design, so as to inspire learners, teachers and all readers. In addition, I have worked as a jeweler and studied printmaking and bookmaking.  I have an M.Ed. in Art Education.

​In addition, I am a longtime educator and learning designer specializing in both in-school and informal environments. I have a deep understanding of and can provide consultations on arts and literacy integration for schools and programs, as well as project-based learning.
